Have been given old Elgin 12 hp and am looking to possibly find parts but can't find out year model. Tag is worn and can only read, " ?26-0-1103 and ??02-00, built in Canada. Engine is white, Elgin 12 written on cover. Could anyone help??

Re: Elgin indentification

Those numbers aren't helping, but...

The only 12 hp Elgins appear to have been made by West Bend or McCulloch, between 1955 and 1964.

I wish I could be of more help. Could you post a photo?

Re: Elgin indentification

No thats not it, although it is very simular. On mine the fuel pump has one hose from fuel tank to pump, one hose from pump to carb, and one to lower cylinder for vacum to work the diaphram. Also the pull rope is higher on the front of engine. Still appreciate all your help!!!
