Email alerts

Any idea why I dont get email alerts when a new post is made on my thread. I have edited my profile to ask for immediate email alerts and have also tried subscribing to the thread but still no emails.

It may take awhile, maybe overnight.

On this board I have never had that feature work even after going thru the settings. Most likely an admin fix but I haven't said anything to anyone.

It's probably a server issue, having some similar issues with PMs over on Classic Aquasport. Boxes are checked, but nothing happens...

I have had the same issue EVER since i started here. No PM alerts, No new post alerts~ NOTHING...??? Hopefully we can find out what the deal is...

Toward the top of the page, you will find a link called "User CP"

Click it and then look for "Edit Options" along the side of the page.

Then, scroll down to the box that says "Default Thread Subscription Mode"

Select the option from the drop down box that says "Instant email notification"

Scroll to the bottom of the same page and click "Save Changes"

Now, you will receive notification of threads you have subscribed to...

Already done that and still dont get them. Just went in to check again and sure enough it says I have instant email alerts. Tried saving again so lets see what happens.

That's weird becasue I knew you posted a reply since I got notification as an email in Outlook...maybe yours are going into a spam folder or something?

No definitely not going to junk or spam mail - I use my business email and all is ok just dont get any alerts, didn?t even get your reply. I get alerts from other forums I use just not this one and it seems others are in the same boat - pardon the pun

Yup, I am in the same boat you are in. I have not recieved anything for about four weeks or longer.

Yup, I am in the same boat you are in. I have not recieved anything for about four weeks or longer.

We may need a bigger boat soon. I also for some reason have quit receiving alerts as of about 4-5 weeks ago. Though each time I go into CP all settings have been changed back to a blank. Really makes it hard and inconvenient to follow threads.

Apparently when iboats did some upgrading a while back it changed the configuration for at least some of us. I have not gotten and email notification to a subscribed thread in over a year. Maybe they will get it fixed sometime, but don't hold your breath ... we want you around to keep posting!

I asked the same question a year ago and was told they have been told and are working on it. BULL Nobody has done anything in a year about it.

Like my Dad used to say "If it ain't broke. Don't fix it" Well obviously somebody in iboats doesn't believe in that because it wasn't broke and they managed to break it and haven't done anything to fix what wasn't broke in the first place.
