I know I'm beasting a dead horse but I read so many post only to find they never came back with a resolution. Currently I'm getting a continuous rapid beep as soon as the engine starts. (1999 Mercury Bluewater 135) From what I've read it should be a cooling problem but I have a new impeller and strong tell tale stream and it shouldn't really shouldn't alarm the instant of engine start right? I've read that a sequence off beeps are low oil alarms but I've topped both main and reserve tanks full just so safe measure.
So what was your repair that fixed the issue?
Update after reading more post I'm not sure if mine is oil or overheat now, so many conflicting responses. Mine is a rapid beep beep beep and continuous. Is the overheat alarm more of continuous solid tone?

overheat alarm is continuous solid tone.... oilier is oscillating beep, beep, beep, beep etc.. they have absolutely nothin' in common other than usin' tha same buzzer for an alarm...... do you get tha self check beeps when you turn tha key ta on?,, if you are getting tha warning beeps at immediate start of tha motor it can be one of two things.. one is tha sensor in cap for oil tank on tha motor.. you can trace tha wire from tank cap to tha module and simply disconnect 'em from tha module.. if its tha cap sensor alarm should stop.. you can check continiuty between tha same two wires with a multi meter.. should be open when float is up and closed when down.. tha other might be tha oilier module itself.. if it still alarms with cap wire disconnected then your probably lookin' at a bad module............

Well darn..I did like you said, I disconnected the wire from the oiler cap and still got the alarm immediately after start up. Both are blue and feed into a protection tube and come out purple and tan with stripe at the module. The purple has a bullet connector (the one I unplugged) and the tan with stripe grounds to a screw at the module which I left connected. I haven't checked the ohms just yet

doesn't sound right.. all purple wires should be a 12v "switched" (key on) power only... tan (should be tan/blu) should go from module over to a plastic term block and termed under same screw as over temp sensor wire and wire from tha harness... give me a minute ta pull up diagram.. do ya have tha serial number handy?.. not really necessary but would speed it up a little....

jus thought.. yours may have a rotation sensor also.. don't remember 'xactly when they went away,..

You are correct about the wiring color code. I have maintenance records from the PO and at some point and time it did get a new oil cap and float. Look like they didn't have any light blue wire so they used purple. You can feel the butt splice in the protector sleeve. BTW, I do get the proper start up beep when you turn the key to "on"

you also have a rotation sensor goin' to tha module that can cause tha instant alarm.. either bad oilier ring and/or pinion gear (pump won't turn), bad sensor or switch box can set it off... send me an email address and i'll send ya an oem manual (pdf).......

Apparently I don't have the motion sensor on mine. There is the corresponding wires that come from the alarm module and where the sensor goes it appears to be factory capped with black paint still in the threads. I did find that if disconnect the green wire from the switch box the alarm will not sound. I've read that would a bad oil pump. I'm at the point where I may block it off and never worry about oil pump failure. My last boat had a Force 150 and they don't come with oil injection so I'm used to pre-mixing

tha green should have gone to a switch box.. should have a white and a blue/white going to tha pump sensor...... but its probably time to eliminate tha oilier anyway.
