Need a bit of advice guys.
Ok, so I'm installing two new Mercruiser 5.7 357 Magnums, in a twin screw Chaparral. The starboard side engine went well, and had no issues getting it to align properly.
The port engine seems to be a different matter. The alignment bar only goes into the coupler about half way, and has grease marks on the top of the bar when pulled out. This tells me I need to go down on the front of the engine, but I have adjusted it down as far as it will go...
I have adjusted the gimbal bearing with a rubber mallet and it seems to be ok and makes no difference.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
