I have a 1995 bowrider, w/ a 5.7L Mercruiser V8 Serial# OF438792, Alpha One Gen II outdrive
I'm removing the engine this weekend to repair weak transom. First, a quick thank you; I have read the very helpful posts on that subject that suggested the lableling, photos, videos, manuals etc....thank you all.
I've also read many winterization posts, but wanted to find out what considerations I should take since the outdrive will be removed, and the engine essentially will be drained during removal. Since the engine will likely sit on a shelf/pallet for the coming 4-5 months give or take is there anything I should do in terms of winterization or upkeep for it's shelf period? I'm not asking about oil changes, sparks plugs, belts or any other considerations while I have it out so much as ensuring I leave it stored appropriately.
Thank you.
