Re: engine bhp

billy, looks like it is a 1967 110 hp, 1100SS. they are hard to start. they like a lot of fuel on starting. pump the primer bulb, till hard, like idle lever full, choke try 3 to start 3 times, then pump buld again. try to start, you will have to play with the choke to keep it running until warm. it's just a the nature of the inline 6 cyl mercurys. as far as tthe gas mixture, i'm not postitive, as this is the age when they were changing from 24/1 to 50/1. one of the older merc experts will be along, put a post in the Mercury outboard forum, 67 1100 gas mix. you'll get an answer really quick. welcome to iboats.

this is the link i got the info from, and you can order a reprint of the original merc. manual.

Another great site for Merc help is Johns Old Mercury Web Site. Some of the inlines are touchy about proper timing And I believe some info has been up dated through the years.Johns and old mercs should be able to help.I think old mercs has reprint factory manuals a must if you are going to do your own maintenance.
