engine bogs down out of the hole

I have a 1996 xr2 mercury 225. attached to a fx21 fisher fiberglass boat . When it comes out of the hole its slugges and sometimes it just boggs down. I just got this boat and they said it was sitting for a while. Can anyone give me some advice Thanks Curt

Get a manual be a good place to start but go through the the fuel system and you may find your problem there may just be a carb adjustment
