hello, i have a 1999 suzuki grand vitara with 102,000 miles that the wife is leasing and ends in december. this vehicle has digital dashboard, same as chevy tracker

i know this isnt nice, but im asking anyway, just for educational purposes, of course..... SO MODS DO NOT ERASE THIS TILL I READ IT PLEASE

can i swap the ECM form a nother vehicle with say, 60,000 miles and have it read that amount on the dash? remember, this is just for educational purposes.

no the odometer isnt stored in the ecm and if you change the dash cluster and if its like a ford you will have to upload the programing for it to work right. its also considered fraud and the fine would be hefty if caught.

Mike,

No offense meant. Just poking at ya.

I think once you put a pencil to it, you'd be better off buying out the lease.

yes, i will buy out the lease and then sell it locally in paper...

heres my math
buy out price is 6800
walk away price...2900 excess milage, plus wear&tear..easily a nother 2 grand
current trade in is 4000...2800 loss
current sale price, localy in paper is 5-9000, depending on condition and milage(ours is at lower end of spectrum)

we are gonna try an buy it out from lease company( they sure as he11 dont want it back!) and sell locally for 7 grand obo, maybe take a 500 dollar loss, but thats better than the alternatives!!!

anybody looking to buy a 99 suzuki grand vitarat v6 4X4 with tow package and roof racks? hint hint...

dj, no harm taken, i was poking back at ya! its late:)
