Engine cooling path

Could someone please tell me how water travels from a body of water and then through the engine? It's an OMC TurboJet 115 and it's overheating. I've been troubleshooting and I can't make sense of it. Thanks

There is a great picture in my factory manual. It is too much to go thru here. You cannot backflush anything with the thermostats installed.
