I have a 1977 75hp evinrude that could use a new engine cover. Any ideas where I might find one? If I could at least get the gasket that goes around the bottom so no water slips in I would be happy. The model number is 75743.

Re: engine cover

There have been allot of used engine covers on ebay...even a Johnson will fit. Some need paint and decals but any sign shop will "normally" make the matching decals.

Bob

Re: engine cover

I fixed the holes in mine with fiberglass putty, sanded it back and coated it in etch primer and spray painted it.. looks like new..

And for the seal around the base, I used the trim from the back door of a s-wagon car it holds the hood lining in place and looks like flexable C channel.. looks better then new, and works a treat...

worked out at less then 30 bucks to fix it up.. and it had two holes and lots of scratches.

give it a try..

regards

Frank
