I purchased a boat with twin 2008 Volvo drives that came with a Raymarine Axiom 9+ multi-function display. The previous owner installed it and was told he could use a Raymarine ECI-100 interface to communicate with the Volvo ECM but after failed attempts to get it to communicate with the Volvo ECM, he contacted tech support and was told his only option would be to replace the ECI-100 with a Volvo NMEA2000/Easy Connect interface.
When I bought the boat, I thought the only thing backwards on the prebuilt engine data page was the engine RPM, however after checking closely everything was reversed (port engine data showing up on the right & labeled starboard and vis versa). As a work around, the previous owner had created a custom page that had the engine data in the correct orientation (port engine information shown on left and starboard engine data on the right). I'm trying to get the engine data in the correct order because there are several prebuilt "split" displays and it's confusing looking at the RPMs on the wrong sides.
So far I've;
Per Raymarine literature, my engines are non-ECV but the Volvo parts lookup using my serial numbers show they are ECV. I assumed they were non-ECV otherwise the ECI-100's should have worked for the previous owner. A forum post indicates the software in the MFD may not allow me to change/map to a particular network PNG or change the designation.
Has anyone ran into this issue and know how to resolve it?

So far I've;
- confirmed the wiring harness were connected to the correct engine & interface
- the Volvo Easy Connect app confirmed when I'm running the port engine, I'm getting Bluetooth data on the interface that's labeled port
- updated the software to the latest version on everything
- called Raymarine tech support on another issue - trying to get fuel flow manager to work using PNG 127497 rather than PNG 127489. the first tech I talked to was very helpful and knowledgeable, the second not so and still haven't resolved that issue
- did a factory reset & power on reset numerous times
- reran the "Identify Engine" wizard several times which fails every time but if you skip it the data will appear but in the wrong engine order
- swapped the interface engine harness leads to the Volvo NMEA2000/Easy Connect interface in an attempt to reverse the engine data on the MFD
- I assumed that the MFD would stay addressed to the Volvo interface
