i have a 1995 rinker fiesta vee. 5.7 carbed with a bravo 2 drive . it started late last year after i installed 2 manifolds that were cracked, , i tested fuel for water , volatility, settlement all came back good. i ran it twice this year after a hard run, it would pop out of carb , loose power then die, but it would take about 10 mins after loosing power to completely stall. if i wait a half hour it would start normal [extended cranking but it would run.i ve checked connections, cap rotor , plugs are all white in color, the engine never uses oil, you guys have any ideas ,? tks

Re: engine dies after 30 minute run

You start the process by verifying if it is a fuel issue or a spark issue. If you have spark when the engine quits it is a fuel issue. If there is no spark that sends you to the ignition system.

Fuel: Weak fuel pump, restriction in the fuel line, filter, pickup tube in the tank, anti-siphon valve, fuel line degradation (internally), carburetor float bowl full of gunk/debris.

Ignition: Coil getting hot, ignition system component degradation. When was the last tune-up? Good looking ignition components does not mean properly functioning ignition components. Ignition timing and dwell (if points system) set properly?

Engine overheat would be indicated on the Water Temp Gauge. What happens with oil pressure and water temp when this happens? Plugs should typically be a light tan or light brown color. Pure white says water being ingested, overheating, or carburetion too lean.

Ayuh,.... It's runnin' Lean, from a lack of Fuel,....

Check the fuel system from the tank's Vent, to the carb,...

An easy test is to take the fuel cap off. If the problem stops it is the tank vent. It could be lots of other things too though.

I have the same boat as you with the same 5.7l engine. I honestly never came across a problem like this but during my power loss diagnosis i was trying to find the anti siphon valve on the gas tank and never found it. I feel as if Rinker never had the valves on the tank. But try and check for vapor lock in the tank. Possibly it. Also check for cracks in the fuel lines going to the engine side and the fuel fill side. Also you can check for vacuum in the carburetor. Good Luck

An anti-siphon valve is part of USCG regulations. It is a requirement.

Your ignition coil is taking a dump, it gets hot.

Have same engines twin, had same issues as you posted was coil so I go with coil and maybe dis. cap. coil first.

An Anti-Siphon Valve is not much to look at.

Externally, it is indistinguishable from a normal barbed hose fitting.

The A/S valve is inside the hose barb fitting screwed into the fuel tank. If Rinker installed a straight hose barb instead of the A/S valve the CG would have their license yanked in a heartbeat. If it is not there then perhaps a young wannabe mechanic replaced it.

OP should immediately test spark when the condition arises, IF there is no spark then begin to suspect the coil and proceed to test accordingly.

REMEMBER, there is NO RETURN on electrical parts, test, and retest again to PROVE the fault before ordering any electrical part.

fuel pump is new, also water pump[leaking ] no overheating normal running temp did a fuel sample no water; good octane; plugs are light brown, it popped trough the carb, it started ok after cooling off, its electronic, i ohm tested coil, but i did it cool not a hot soak .

Ayuh,.... If yer sure of the fuel system,...
Go Here, 'n download the factory manual,...
In there is a good diagnostic tree for the T-Bolt ignition system on yer motor,...
