Can someone point me to the best web source for aftermarket engine electrical parts such as stators, triggers, coils.....Im working on a 78 merc 500 50 and need a new trigger and stator. Any help would be great

If you "Google" the part numbers, you can get an idea who sells them, and an aprox. price. Watch out for shiping costs. ebasicpower has some newer ignition components, at a good price, I am not sure if they carry the old stuff. Vintage outboards has some of the older stuff for Mercs.

These parts are still available thru mercury. Any merc dealer can help.

I dont know about parts for your engine but the cheepest place I found in a reasonable time was Boatfix.com for the switchboxes and stator for my 81 Black Max 225. The best thing to do is decide who's parts you want to use , I took suggestions from several people and decided on CDI then compare prices from everyone you can find online for that part. Im shure if I digged longer I could have beet there price but they were $10 cheeper than most and $20 cheeper than some. They shiped directly from CDI for $17 and were here in a week.
