Engine falters in turns

I was out this w/e pulling my kids on tubes/skis and just running around. Before we got to the lake, I filled up two of my 6gal portable tanks, added oil, etc. I pulled the kids on the first tank with no problems. Eventually I switched to the 2nd tank. When I accellerated, everything was fine. However, when I went to make a tight turn, the engine would falter, and die. I could start it backup and it would run fine, and as long as I was going straight it was good, but as soon as I turned, it would falter again.

I switched back to my first tank and all was good.

I examined the tank when I got home and I didn't see any debris or anything in the tank. The only difference in this tank is that it doesn't have a rubber pick-up tube. The pick-up is molded into the front of the gas tank. I unscrewed the metal gas hose connector from the tank and blew air into the hole and it came out in the tank so it didn't seem to be obstructed. And before anyone asks.... yes, I had the cap vent open. :)

Any ideas?

Sounds like the gas in the second tank was pushed to one side in the turns and the fuel pickup isn't picking up any gas. Might be able to tilt the tank in a way so that centrifugal force doesn't move the gas away from the fuel pick-up.

I thought about that too, but it was a full tank of gas.

I would suspect some type of restriction, probably in the metal connector on the tank itself. If the metal connector is replaceable, that's where I would start. Or if you can use the metal connector from the other tank, try that as a test. Very strange that it only happens with the one tank even when it is full of gas. Is this the first time you've used this tank with the molded PU?

It's actually one of the older tanks.

My other thought was maybe the tank hand some moisture in it and when I turned, the water was being picked up into the tube.

Yes water/moisture would definitely be a problem.
