I have a problem I cant figure out. 1997 Larson 226, today the Electric engine hatch went up then NOT back down! After much troubleshooting, the fuse in the control box is fine, the fuse from the battery to the switch keeps blowing (30a). I've checked wires for a short, i dont think thats it and I removed the Ram from the circuit to rule it out. In the control box are 2 relays, is it even possible that a relay could be causing the fuse to blow? Any other ideas? After ringing wires for 8 hours and bending over the rear seat I've had it for the day! Also, i cant find any kind of a wiring diagram, the control box says "Sundeck" but thats a boat brand LOL.

Re: Engine Hatch Blowing Fuse???

Might be a problem with the electric actuator that is pushing the hydraulic fluid. If the motor is pulling too much current, it will blow the fuse all day long. Is it blowing the fuse immediately or after a bit of movement? Since it's blowing it while trying to put the cover down, that doesn't run the motor on the pump, it should just be allowing a valve to open and the fluid to return to the tank (most models, yours may vary). The weight of the hatch should allow it to lower itself. Call the company?

Re: Engine Hatch Blowing Fuse???

Its not the actuator, I've disconnected it during troubleshooting. It has the logic box with the 2 relays (Already changed) a switch with 6 connections, it looks like only 3 are for the ram Top Mid and Bottom (Up Down and Common) The fuse that blows is the one off the battery buss, not the one in the controller. It's never done this before. I'm going to replace the switch next just for fun. I need a wiring diagram for an electric engine hatch if anyone has one.
