I have a 70 hp Evinrude 4 Stroke Model # E70PL4SI that I recently purchased. It ran fine when I purchased it in October 2025 but sat thru the winter. When I was testing it and cleaning the boat the engine light came on and overheat light. I replaced the thermostat and that seemed to take care of the overheating part but now the computer program shows its overcharging 16-17 volts. The battery test good although it is several years old. I kept a maintainer on it through the winter. Im thinking its the voltage regulator but I cant't find it on the engine if its the finned type unless its behind the black box that houses the ecu. I read this a Suzuki engine and what parts do I order. Evinrude or Suzuki 70DF parts ? I have a Evinrude manual but its not much help on location or searching the net. Any help appreciated.

there are several much less expensive rec. reg on the maket that can do the same and simply need to be " fitted". check amazon

this "mercury one" is $24 grounding is via mounting bolts. 6-15 amps charge cap.

just get one with a comparable amp. capacity to charge your battery and feed some accessories

2 yellows are stator AC to be rectifiedand regulated. red is B+usually goes on the manin B+ IN post black is ground.
