looking at getting a new to me motor. This one is a 15 horse short shaft that i think is mid 80s. I can get it for around a $1000 its electric start and ways alot less than the new 4strokes which is important to me. model number is E15EC0B and serial number is E0503654 any info on this motor would be great ( i dont want a motor that will give me trouble lol)

E = Evinrude
15 = 15hp
E = electric start
C = 8, O = 5, therefore 1985
B not important

they are great little motors, as long as you have a short shaft transom. check compression, spark, lower unit oil. if all good i say go for it. the electric start option would cost you $4-500 it install on a rope model.
