Engine Info???

Can anyone tell me about my engine? <br /><br />Serial# D621941<br /><br />I know it is a 5.0 mercruiser. How many hp? Ford or Chevy? Any info you can provide would be great. Thank you.<br /><br />One other thing.....With the above info, can you tell what size prop I should have?

I pulled the plugs, they are AC Delco (MR44T). I cross referenced this to a Champion RV12C. Should this be fine?<br /><br />Do I have a Ford or GM? Being a 5.0 I figure it is a Ford..........

If you look at my first reply, the first sentense says "It's a Chevy"<br /><br />No champion is FINE in a marine engine. Stick with AC, NGK, Bosch, anything but Champion. They cause more problems than they cure.

AC Delco (MR44T).

That IS the Best plug for Your Motor..........

seemd like the bosch's just drop thier ceramic tips down into the cylinders!!! happens alot seems like

We've been using Bosch and NGK plugs for years on about 50 to 75 boats a year and I've never seen or heard of the ceramic tip falling off on any of them.

Oil, how many quarts do I need to change it? Also, what type of oil is best?<br /><br />Does anyone know how much horsepower this engine puts out?
