I need some help with the proper "stackup" on the bellhousing to transom plate on engine installation. It's a 88 mercruiser 5.0 200hp 2bbl. I've done some research online and I'm not sure of the proper placement of the spacer and the spring. I want to make sure i get it right the first time as i have to drag the boat a considerable distance to install the engine. I've got a manual on order and thought it would be here by now.
So...
Does the spacer and spring go between the bellhousing and the transom plate or, is it only the spring that goes between the bellhousing and the transom plate and the spacer goes on top of the bellhousing?
I hope that's not to confusing. I can't think of a better way to explain it.
Thanks in advance for all the help
