Re: engine kit

hey esign u work on 60k race engines how come you wrote how do u know if a used engine is good..and you would have alot to say about using forged parts, likes forged pistons cuz they dont run as hot like the hypers and cast, as long as there a decent set made from a good alloy and thermal barrier coating allways nice but not needed
i dont like the Federal Mogul parts they work but ive never had great luck with them..specially there rings cuz they always have to much drag, but they do seal nicely. i forgot the brand but thay had around 7 to 9 less lbs or drag..

Re: engine kit

my point WAS that buying a used engine i would tear it down to inspect everything before i put it in a boat NOT knowing the condition of the internal parts. So why not rebuild the original or buy new.Why put myself or my passengers at risk with a used engine.
Maybe some people do it half a$$ed but i'm not.

I guess this is boating "101" by century 1978..

What the heck is a cuz anyway?
