Just read that Sandusk thing. Ouch!!

Anyway, I just purchased a 1988 200hp Yamaha counter rotating engine. Put it on the the boat fired it up, no problem. However, (pause) I took the boat out on the water and brought it up to 5900rpm's, on accident, then all of the sudden it went to 5300rpm's and that's were it stays. The low end is great.

Here are some quick notes:

boat sat for a year.
has good compression all between 115 and 120psi
replaced the fuel pumps and the sparkplugs
engine was in saltwater
Decarbed it last night. :D

Re: Engine loses RPM's at W.O.T.

I found out that the problem was incorrect sparkplugs. The person at the auto store was out of my plugs, so she cross referenced them with autolite plugs. Didn't work but now it does. Thanks for your help.
