Let me know if it was the ingnition control module. I have a boat doing what seems to be the same thing. I had the module tested at an AutoZone nd it tested bad but I have not got to test the boat yet.
What engine and distributor do you have? Like I said on that old post, there isn't an ignition module in the distributor on a Mercruiser, and everything about the system is Mercruiser and Merc can't test them. How come auto zone can??????????
AutoZone does NOT have a clue about anything marine related anyway.
Its all they can manage just to look up auto parts and thats usually wrong too..
Let a real marine Tech do the testing...
