I have #7, but I think you need #8. It is for 4cyl.

I'd like to get a copy of that one too.

I just added the link from totx to the Adults only sticky. without looking at it. It's a zip file I believe.
totx, you might want to explain how to download that type file.

Yes Don,

Was thinking about it, and uploaded a read me file later.

---------------

Was not able to reduce file size with winrar ore winzip below the 100 MB limit

So files are compressed/splitted with 7-zip

Probably need 7-zip to extract files

http://www.7-zip.org/

(Download all files and extract with 7-zip)

Re: engine manual....

Thanks for posting this. Now, in addition to the links Don has in the Adults Only location, all manuals except 12, 19, 22, 27, 29, 34, 35 are now available in a reduced file size here:

Great job Bilgamesh,

But how did you do this?
Look like all your files are pdf on 4shared.

Your serv man # 8 file are only 48 MB
The original file are 364 MB

Mine compression with 7-zip was still 359 MB

Re: engine manual....

How: In Adobe Acrobat Pro there is a tool in there to "Reduce File Size" in the File menu. It compresses the data within the actual document. All the data is still there.

Why: There is a troll in several cities in craigslist selling individual manuals he writes to CD for $4 + shipping. It irked me...

Now I just wish we could find those few outstanding documents.

Excellent job on the size reduction. That will sure make a lot of people happy.
Will post your link in the Adults only sticky.

That list of missing manuals isn't a big deal. They are diesel engines, that never had links to them. 35 is for the Precision pilot, also without al link prior to Mercs links being shutdown.

Re: engine manual....

Thanks for the kudos. I have just gathered up what is already available elsewhere. It is my pleasure to help as an expression of my gratitude for the help others have given me on this forum.

I would recommend we get them archived to another location if possible. If anybody has any ideas I will help.

Re: engine manual....

I don't know if it would be possible or a good idea, but what about putting them all on CDs?
I had to get a big movie length CD to put manual #2 on .

Re: engine manual....

Does anybody know what the copyright infringement ramifications might be on this? I guess I assumed that since these are posted elsewhere, and were free from Mercury to begin with, that it was okay to post them. I have since gotten information that leads me to believe that if I help to take control of the distribution away from the copyright owner, I may be at risk of lawsuit. I certainly don't want to get in any such crack just for trying to help out with gathering and archiving. I would appreciate any thoughts.
