engine manufacture not sure what to get

hello all please could I have your views on engines Iam looking to buy a small inflateable boat for retriving R/C boats. I am fairly strong max weight I can lift is around 60KG. the question is shall I go for a 2 stroke or 4

I take it from your list of possibilities that you are not in the USA. It's going to depend on what boat you purchase, really, and having a servicing dealer for the brand you choose. Otherwise, they're all good.

Pick an outboard that has the horsepower rating suggested for your inflatable, then choose one that has dealer service available to you locally. 2 or 4 stroke isn't really an issue, frankly. All the new motors will run just fine.

agree on service, seems it's even more important in Europe than the US.

servicing no problem I am very near 3 dealers who can service the engines. for a 2 stroke it can not be that hard to do same goes for 4 stroke the size of inflateable I am looking at is aroudn 4 meter zodiac or very similar

buy the max horse power the boat is rated for, and the best deal you can make on an engine. there are all good reliable engine. 2 strokes are more owner friendly as far as owner maintainance.

if you want a light outboard the old carb 2 strokes are much lighter then anything on the market today

IF I had an inflatible where I would frequently remove the motor and possibily store it on its side (laying down). I then would definently go with a two stroke motor. This way you avoid issue of oil running out of the crank case. By design two strokes are lighter.
