Re: Engine misfire when starting kills engine?

Pulling back a thread I started.

I got my OEM Force guides and followed the procedure for adjusting the Idle Mixture screws on each of the carbs. (Lightly seat, then 1 full turn, looking for the lean & rich settings, then adjust to the middle 'sweet spot'.)

I think I've got it...idles good, no exhaust cough when starting hot, etc...I shot some video, let me know if you think it sounds good & starts properly. It fires up in 1/2 a revolution now.

(Ignore the engine revs, I was hitting the throttle a few times when it was running.)

Actually, I'll have pictures of a 40 mile (round trip) Mississippi river trip this weekend! Can't wait, 35 boats, 75 people, should be a lot of fun.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction on solving it. Runs great!

Lucky You. We have a SCA with winds gusting to 25 and waves to 4 feet.

Even my trusty 85hp Bayliner Capri can't beat those odds.

Take plenty of mosquito spray.

basically pictures and measurements of the wood from the dash's forward..... mine was gone when i got it i have the old resin/fiberglass marks on the sides of the hull for height but i dont know how the wood was cut to go from the bow back to the dashes...and the corresponding pieces under the dash would be awesome

Yep, can do. Boat is packed & covered now for the trip to the Mississippi for the weekend, I can do that for you next week. Send me a PM for a reminder ok?

Did you look at my Picasa web album? There are quite a few of the front area from the tear down.

I can tell you that the front seat box height is 14" off the floor.

If it were me, and it was completely torn down, as you say, I wouldn't rebuild what Bayliner did, but that's just me.

Nah, I just need to point the motor up wind of me every once in a while, and get a fresh exhaust cloud around me...smokes them right out of the area!
