I have a 1981 115hp Evinrude on a 1981 Ranger bass boat, how can I tell if the engine is mounted at the correct height?

General rule is the cavitaion plate should be even to an inch or so higher than the bottom of the boat, but I think that Ranger is a Pad Hull and I don't where to set the motor on it.

The correct height will depend on the technology in the prop and how it reacts with the hull design.

We start with the current prop, establish a baseline and calculate slip %. From there we work to reduce the slip. That will lead to max efficiency.
