well mark is right about major disassembly, and I couldn't even turn the few screws I attempted w/o striping them out!!
I pumped a bunch of grease through it and pieces of the retainer ring/seal came out, definitely what is broken. Good news is that all the mounts are solid, and I inspected the thrust mount, it looks fine. I will look into getting this done at a shop, but may try fabricating a rubber piece to fit there and remove the play. It only wobbles around at idle, and most the motors I've seen do the same thing.
