Hey all My Buddy just bought a boat and we noticed A. there is no dipstick and B there are no Engine Mounts. The engine Oil Pan is slightly tilted and the Fill Cap up top is Horizontal. The outdrive and motor are clean clean clean but It seems weird that there are no engine mounts up front or on the sides of the motor. If we push on it or throw a shoulder into it doesn't move at all but I just thought it was strange that it's only bolted to the Transom, and thats it. I'll get some pics this weekend and put em up here if need be, but I was just wondering if this is the way it's manufactured or not. I'll get the model Of the boat but it's like an 85 to 89 19' open bow Bayliner Capri. We'll have to get on the dipstik thing later. (we cant even find a place where it supposed to go !)
Thanks for any Quick Answers

Re: engine Mounts AQ125b Volvo270 I/O 19'Openbow

I have an AQ125A mounted on my Bayliner. ( I am not sure if there is much of a difference between an AQ125a or an AQ125b) There is no side supports on mine. I have not seen these Volvo engines with side supports installed with them. If the engine is sturdy, then I would not worry about it, but you can try looking at a parts diagram for your engine at the Volvo Penta website to see if there was side mounts. If you are looking for the dipstick location, then try looking on the top of the engine between the air cleaner (filter) and the expansion tank (if yours has one). If not, look behind the valve assembly cover. (The big metal thing that says "Volvo" on it) That is were my dipstick is located. It is a long tube that travels to the back of the engine. I hope this will help.

Thanks
