Changed heads on 1972 307 225 omc electric shift.
How much oil is left in the engine after a filter ,oil change ??
Upon restarting the engine I still had some milkish oil circulating is that normal or do I still have a problem.
Thanks, Rich

Ayuh,..... If it was milky when ya tore it down, it'll be milky til ya run it up to temp for a run, to steam off the residual water,...

Watch the oil Level,.... If it Rises as yer runnin', ya still got a problem,....

Thanks, I hope it will burn off.

If your oil is drained through the dipstick.
Then you probably got about 95% of the oil.
There are spots in the engine that oil pools and in the pump and passages it won't drain unless you turn the motor over while the filter is off.
Run it and see if it gets worse.
If there is a small amount it will eventually "cook" away.
I'd run it and change the oil again.
Then when the filter is off, unhook the coil and turn the motor over and any oil in the lines should be pumped out.
Not sure but there might be an oil cooler in the system.
Check it for leaks?
