You know,,,,,,,, You probably would have gotten a link to an online service manual, but you just NEVER mentione rather you have an OMC, Volvo, or Mercruiser. All are different in what it takes. You have been asked several times and you still avoid answering.
One question.......... WHY don't you part with that so private information when all it will do is make your job SOOOOO much easier.

Good idea, just because the OD goes back in, thats no guarantee it's correct. Additionally, I'd hate to see ya back here in few weeks asking about coupler replacement.

It's not like i was holding back the info I didnt know there was that much difference in the motors and outdrives . I figured they were like cars thats why I put the model of the boat . Here is the info off the top of the motor . I am not the kind of guy that likes to wait around I figured I had enough info from what I had read online to get the motor out of the hull without too much trouble . I like to tinker around anyway so I made it a learning lesson. The best way to learn is to go in and do it If I make a mistake the first time then I wont do it the next time . well thanks again for all the help I have recieved. If someone wants to get the link for me I would still like to have the info on the motor and outdrive .

PS: I just remembered I dont know how to put up pics on here so I will type out the info on the motor

Ahhhhh Yes, the old Trial and Error method. Where you get to say "Oh $H1T" a lot as you break things as you error along. Since that can get to be an extreemly expensive method of boat repair, try these service manuals for your engine and drive.
Since you still haven't said the word, you have a Mercruiser engine and an Alpha I outdrive.

Hi Don, THANK YOU for that VERY valuable information in those links you posted! Everyone here in my office thanks you as well, as I printed all 784 pages and the printer que grew LONG...May I ask you one question, as I am in the process of getting ready to yank my 1986 Mercruiser 5.7/Alpha 1 out of my own boat this weekend (to replace an oil pan with a rust hole). What is the purpose of the fiber washer and double sprung lock washer under the rear mounts? Should they be replaced or reused? Also, I'm having a tough time trying to locate front mounts for the same boat- I would like to replace mine. Are they vessel specific or somewhat universal? They are the type with 2 lag bolts each to the stringers, and one stud with two nuts for adjustment. Where would I go to buy them for a 1986 SeaRay 230 Weekender? Thanks! Bill
