How fast can you remove a engine in a vw golf? These guys are pretty quick. :facepalm:

nooo that comes out the bottom of the dash pretty easy. I bet they needed to change the PCV valve.

Considering the tree was chained directly to the engine, and the engine appears to lift pretty high out of the engine bay when under power (as in the engine mount was unbolted), I would say engine removal was their goal.
