I need to remove a 1982 Evinrude 150 hp from one boat to another. I have a tractor with loader so lifting is not a problem. However, there are no attachment points to hook a chain or rope up to. I was thinking of a rope or strap around the bottom of the heads and another underneat the from of the power head but it's a tight fit there. Only other possibility I see would be to carefully run a strap under and around the flywheel. My 1988 Johnson 88 spl has a bracket attached to one of the engine bolts and I used that to remove that engine but it seems if that was acceptable for a 150 hp which weighs almost 100 lbs more that OMC would have put one on. Any suggestions???????

pull the cowl and use a lifting eye off the crank bolt

There is a tool to use. It is a lifting eye that attaches to a plate with three screws that go into the flywheel.

You can use a 3-legged automotive harmonic balancer puller on the 3 holes in the flywheel. Put a strap through the puller when you get it tightly bolted on.
