Engine serial number

Engine is an Merc 5.0 in a 1988 Wellcraft 210 Classic. The serial number on the valve cover decal has worn off. Is there anywhere else I can locate it ? Sorry for the dumb question.

There's a Mercruiser plate on the rear starboard (right) side of the engine just above the starter. That's where the Merc # is.
