Engine stalls at 3300rpm

93 Ski nautique by correct craft w/a pleasurecraft marine v-8.Engine stalls out at 3300rpm only.Engine idles and runs fine under 3300rpm.Any thaughts or ideas as to what could be the problem.Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I wish I recalled more, but I ran into a ski inboard that had an electric fuel boost pump under the floor besides the pump on the motor. It displayed similar characteristics. That pump had failed leaving the motor pump to do all the work thru the restriction of the boost pump. I don't recall the make of the boat or motor.
