engine start up

Guys....I ran up my 9.9 johnson today as you told me to. It started up on the second pull...I patted myself on the back and was very excited. This was the first time I ever did a complete rebuild.

I have another problem . I let it run about an hour and then there was a loud bang. I checked the engine out and found that she blew out the lower spark plug. I guess it's stripped. Now I have another problem. How do I fix this,get a new head for it or is there another way.

I would look for a new head...new or used!

possible to helicoil it. sounds like it was not tighten down.

Put in heli coil which was fairly simple to do and now she runs like a top.
