engine starting problems

I have a 97 larson with the 4.3 v6 in it. Whenever i turn the key i have nothing so i changed the starter and i still can only start it by jumping it across for the starter. Does anyone know what it would be that causes me to have to do that

It could only be your ignition switch, solenoid or wiring. Get out your test light and start testing!
