Engine struggles when opening throttle quickly

Hi my mercury 8hp 2007 4 stroke outboard is sluggish to accelerate if I open the throttle quickly.
if I am slow and smooth with the throttle she picks up ok but maybe has a little wobble in the mid throttle area but if I open the throttle at a normal rate in neutral or in gear she bogs down and some times dies

Any thoughts

Ps I have had the carbs off and cleaned them and i am confident they are very clean

I can't see any accelerator pump on the carb, so I would suggest you richen the idle mixture slightly. Also check the engine compression and initial timing. You said carbs (plural). There should only be 1 carb on that engine.

Yes only one carb sorry for the confusion.

Same way you do with a car engine.... Point a timing light at the timing marks....
