Looking for the best most reputable marine engine suppliers on the internet. I know of the main ones such as Rapido marine and Michigan Motorz, and a few others. I have also read the threads on the main ones I just listed.

I read on here somewhere about A & L engine rebuilders (great warranty) but I'm not sure. Just not wanting to throw my money away. Looking for subjective feedback or experiences with any other suppliers out there, the hidden gems so to speak. Thanks!

Re: Engine suppliers

If you want the best engine for your boat and money is no object, get a new one directly from Mercruiser.

No matter who you deal with when it comes to engine purchases over the internet, you are bound to have issues that require customer service support at some point in time. That will almost always require shipping the engine back and forth in the event service or warranty work is expected or required.

I personally am still of the belief that the best option is to have a local machine shop rebuild an engine for you from scratch. Most cost effective, most easily serviced and warrantied. And a great source of "free" information once you spend your hard-earned cash with a machine shop/engine builder. Just my honest opinion. YMMV!

Re: Engine suppliers

Well I have thought about that. There really are no reputable rebuilders in the minneapolis area that specialize in marine engines. There is one, but the warranty is not there like the ones online. The best I have found in that regards is A & L engine rebuilders out of Florida. They have a two year unlimited warranty on their marine engines, most others are just a year. Looks like they are the best I've found so far. Just wondering if there was any others I might be overlooking.
