Engine swap, no voltage to gauges or ignition circuit

Just completing a short block swap after purchasing a 1990 Sea ray 220of with a cracked block.

Before disassembly all electronics worked. Bad engine wouldn't turn but the starter engaged with the ignition. All gauges worked, radio worked, water system worked, trim worked, cabin & running lights worked.

Removed old engine, swapped needed parts to New short block, reinstalled.

I now have zero voltage to the instruments, ignition, basically nothing forward of the engine compartment.

Installed brand new Deka 37series batts, both measure 13.48v, checked main fuse and I show 12.5v in and 12.5v out.

I show zero voltage at the fuse block behind the instruments. Nothing with the key.

What am I missing??

did you clean all the battery connections at the starter? did you connect the block ground? did you clean the connection prior to tightening the bolts?

FYI, if your battery is measuring 13-1/2 volts and the main fuse is showing 12-1/2 volts you have a bad connection somewhere. you should have the exact same voltage.

Howdy

Don't think the 13V is accurate unless you have the bat on a charger when measuring. In any case, look down by the starter for something that looks like this

90 amp fuse.jpg

It will be mounted on the starter post. Inside this is a 90 amp fuse, and it might have been blown. The fuse inside looks like this

I'll checked all the connections. I can't see where I missed a ground. Does anyone have a wiring diagram?

Bt Doc... Are you referring to the barrel type connector on the starboard riser? That I have check multiple times it has voltage at the 2 large pins.

I'll check Bart voltage again and measure at the main fuse block.

There is also a 20 amp inline fuse under the helm which feeds power to the key switch on the Red/Purple wire. Check for 12V on the wire

The pic shows the lay out, but made it up to show how to bypass the kill switch

That I have check multiple times it has voltage at the 2 large pins.

A good trick considering one is 12 positive and one is ground , negative
