Engine swap question

I would like to swap out my Johnson 50 HP with a 60. Does any one know if the steering controls are the same? How much trouble can you get in putting a 60HP motor on a boat with a 50 HP rating? I am thinking it is bad but need to ask before I buy a 60 for one hell of a deal.

If you ever get stopped and checked you will regret being over the rated hp. You may never get checked, but its not a chance that I am willing to take.... If its a "heck of a deal" then buy it and resell it and make a couple bucks. The steering should work if you decided to do it...

Thanks for the advice, I'm sure the fine would not be worth the deal and where I am I see the FWC daily, so not worth it.
