engine trim tab missing....

My 1987 225 V6 Johnson seems to have lost the engine torque/trim tab. It's gone, all of a sudden, to the bottom of the ocean. Are these tabs commonly stocked, or hard to find? What price range are they? Will it hurt to run without it in the meantime? I don't notice much pull. How are they attached? I see no bolt holes or threads.

Hi gringo....

The PN for the trim tab is 327640. "bout $25 and some odd change when you throw in the govenors cut. The bolt that holds it in place is PN 313715. "Bout $6.50 and change....again for the Gov.

There should be a bolt hole under the Anti-cav plate where the trim tab bolts to.

Hope we have helped.

Hi OJ. As I live in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico this may be hard to find here. Will it hurt to run without it if I have to order it shipped in from the us?

mtngringo,

It won't hurt to run it that way, but your steering might be a bit strange.
