Spin pushrod in between 2 fingers while holding it lightly and tighten rocker arm nut, when you feel the the pushrod grab, or change tension, you are at zero lash. There should be no up-down play. Socket pushing against the rocker arm could give a false reading so check it again once the socket is removed. I try to have the socket up on the nut a bit to avoid it binding anything. Atfer they are at zero lash, slowly tighten another 3/4 turn.
