Re: engine upgrade

Likely have to relocate motor mounts is the first big thing, well next to, will it fit? Floor cut fore enough? Second is, will the replacement bolt to your coupler? Third, would the exhaust match? Lots of shootin' craps with out a good research. If you have been through three motors - It may be more efficient to find a decent boat with a decent motor or find out what's killin' your motors. Just my thought...

3 motors? There's something causing it.

The 4.3 is a great motor. Too bad the OMC Cobra outdrives are still not available.

Sorry for your dilemma. Sometimes it's time to visit the marine scrap yard--where many of the boats were I/O's that met an early grave.

Re: engine upgrade

spoke to american marine a 5,7 will fit on my leg and my leg will take it got to fit a v8 esa module a mercruiser style belt set up and rev counter again cus its a v6 model ime buying a crate motor ready to go in with risers ?4625.00 1 year garantea a peice of mind i love this boat leg is 2 year old done by previos owner so i should be ok there

original engine was like a steam engine so i bought a second hand 1 of evil bay whitch lasted about a month then i fitted present engine a chevy astro with new risers that lasted 100 miles so no messing now new engine peice of mind boats worth it in my eyes i bought it for 1800 quid nowing original engine was tyred but i work on alot of these in uk for a local boat repair company and the 4.3 seems to be in bits all the time maybe because of the envioment there in been doing reserch my boat came with a v8 as an option
