Engine weight

I would like to know the weight differance between an old blue band 70 hp merc and a old V4 85 hp evinrude/johnson

Without specific year models included in your question aussieron,I can only provide a non specific answer.<br /><br />1979 model johnson 85 hp engine without trim and tilt weighs 288 lbs.<br /><br />1979 model mercury 70 hp engine without trim and tilt weighs 190 lbs.<br /><br />Expect an average difference of 85-100 lbs depending on the model.

If I remember correctly, my old Evinrude 67-69 60 hp V4 was over 300lbs.

Hi Noel<br /> The fishing up here in the Territory is awsome, we have the choise of good river harbour and offshore fishing. If the rivers are not producing good Barra it is no problem to just put the boat back on the trailer and head to the saltwater. The distances to good fishing is never more than a good half hour drive to either fresh or salt water. <br /> Cheers aussieron
