I have previously overheated motor but not for long. Main drive belt snapped. I would say it might of gotten hot for 5-10 min before I realized it and killed the motor.
It seems since then I can cold start all day long, but after I get to my fishing spot to troll, two things happen...
1. when i shut off to prep fishing gear, motor will not start and if it does it has a very hard time doing so.
2. I will get an irradict idle, to the point where it looks and feels like my motor is shaking and want's to stall.
This is what I noticed, if I remove the cover for the engine (to allow air to flow) it seems to do okay. I still have some rough idling but it don't seem as bad, and the motor WILL restart.
I was thinking about some new wires, rotor and cap, maybe plugs since the overheat.
I really need assistance with this. Can anyone help me get this motor stablized for some decent fishing trips this year?
Thanks,
