My current motor is a 1997 Yamaha c115 TLRV. I (eventually) would like to test a fourstroke yamaha 115 on the boat as I am considering a repower. Looking at a friend of mines F115 the main harness looks to be the same however I did not unplug it to check the pins inside. There were some other harnesses under his cowl that I do not have on mine but I assume they are for the digital gauges. So does anyone know if the main harness is the same older to newer / 2 stroke to 4 stroke?? Will my current shift / throttle hookup to the newer motor? Basically what I want to do is, find someone who has a motor for sale, show up with no motor on my hull, bolt it on, plug in harness / shift / throttle, run the battery wires across the deck to the battery and take it out on the water for testing.

Re: Engine wiring harness compatability

When I went from a 1994 70HP precision blend to a 2000 F100 all that I had to do was open up my 703 control box and switch the linkage around from pull-to-open throttle to push-to-open throttle configuration. Very easy.
