So, I have a 1970 Evinrude 115hp that will start, run, idle beautifully but if I shut the motor off and restart it, it will NOT idle to save a life. does anyone have any ideas?
If you rev up the engine to blow it out (not in neutral!) and thereafter the idle is satisfactory... I would suspect fuel is draining into the crankcase somehow. Remove the carburetor faceplate and observe the carburetor throats while pumping the fuel primer bulb up hard to see if either of them are flooding.
