have a 98 v-4 90hp evinrude that im just now having time to use it,when i put it up last fall i ran the in boat gas tank empty sprayed the motor pulled the batterys.i have never had to change the plugs as it ran fine although i got a set when i picked the boat up new.so i put the new plugs in.30 gap,put fuel in and its very hard to fire smokes like a bonfire of tires when it finally starts for about 20 seconds.can keep it going a little longer if i use the choke button.after reading past posts on the fuel bulb mine gets hard but noticed it was only semi hard. (maybe quarter inch till its hard) after my first fogging of the boat landing, boy people can sure get testy.also its a lund pro-v1660 is there some kind of filter in the gas tank or motor? if not im kinda leaning to the fuel bulb or line has a pin hole what do you guys think?thanks for your help in advance.ritchn

Go Pack! Badgers, too!

As it was running out of gas, it was still pumping oil. What's in the carbs probably looks like something you'd put on your pancakes. Drain the carbs and flush them out by pumping the bulb. Have a few rags under them. Put the drain plugs back in, pump the bulb again and head for the ramp. It'll still smoke for a while, so put on your cheese hat and feel free to flip-off the disgruntled. ;) Happy Boating!
