Engine won't turn over, Batteries fine

2001 Mercruiser 3.0L

When I turn the key the engine makes a click, but won't turn over. Similar click sound when the battery is completely dead. Battery is new and completely charged. Every once in awhile it will crank, no idea why, but next time I turn the key it won't crank....

Took the boat in with similar / same problem and they told me it was the solenoid. Surely they don't go out that quick or they never fixed the original problem.

When it does that, Click and it won't crank take a small hammer and give the starter a couple of taps then try it.
It might be your starters going out.
