Here's my new dilemma, my 1994 Evinrude 115. Background. When winterizing I filled up the gas tank and added stabil, I removed the plugs and sprayed fogging oil in the motor, lowered and wrapped my lower unit (not needed, but precautionary). This weekend we got some nice weather. So after having the batteries on the charger, I hooked up the ear muffs and tried to start. Only it doesn't want to. after awhile it acts like it would turn over and would run for about a split second and die. I'm gonna changes the plugs when I get home, any one have any ideas as to what else to try. Appreciate the assist. Thanks

Check that its sparking on all sparks, also try fresh fuel if possible in case some condensation has ruined the fuel in the tank you a using.

Any chance that when you winterized the engine that you pulled the fuel hose off the engine to run it out of fuel?

Re: Engine won't turn over

Didn't see the replies until this morning, but here's an update. I changed plugs and got it to turn over, but it wouldn't stay running. After more examiniation. I noticed that my fuel tank was almost emply after having filled it up before storing. I'm thinking that the remaining fuel in the tank which is not much it bad. I'll get a portable tank with fresh fuel and try that. As for the full tank I had before storing, I don't see any signs of leakage, nor can I smell it. However I do have a shady neighbor. But not sure, baffled.

Leave a old fuel tank out with some salt water and mud imixed in it for your neighbour to find

The empty fuel tank may actually work out to your advantage-I always store my boats with the fuel tanks empty through the winter-add new fuel each spring.

Agree to a point, just upsets me to have paid all that money to fill it up, which wasn't cheap. Hopefuly I can further diagnose the issue with some fresh gas this weekend.
